About Jay

Jay is a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist based in Hyde, offering an easygoing and down‑to‑earth space for young people (12+) and adults. Jay works in a way that is trauma‑informed, LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent‑affirming, and aims to make therapy feel as safe, human and un‑intimidating as possible.
Jay uses a mix of different therapeutic tools and approaches, shaped around each person rather than a one‑size‑fits‑all model. Sessions might explore thoughts, feelings, relationships, identity, past experiences or day‑to‑day stresses — always at a pace that feels manageable for you.
Alongside private practice, Jay has worked on online mental health platforms, as a counsellor and psychotherapist at Respect For All (an autistic and learning disabled counselling and support service), as a school counsellor in secondary education, and as a specialist mentor for DSA students in higher education. This experience includes helping to build a therapeutic provision in a secondary school and supporting people who are navigating education, work, relationships and life changes.
